Tortillas are Mexican Bread. Two main types are always available - Flour and Corn. And there are 'designer tortillas' such as spinach, etc.
Flour tortillas are used for fajitas, soft-shell tacos, breakfast tacos, and as wraps around many other varied ingredients - I've even used peanut butter and jelly.
Corn tortillas are used for tostadas, tacos, taco chips, enchiladas, and other things.
Both flour and corn tortillas are made of very simple ingredients, but everything we've read points out that they are not easy to make without lots of practice. The flour to water ratio is important, as is the cooking temperature. We just buy ours in the store, where we can purchase then freshly made or packaged.
