Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Ingredients:
2/3 Cup shortening
2/3 Cup butter or margarine, softened
1 Cup granulated sugar
1 Cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 1/2 c all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 Cup chopped nuts, if desired
2 6-oz packages semi-sweet chocolate pieces
Preparation:
Heat oven to 375 F. Mix thoroughly shortening, butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla.
Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart
onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until light brown. Cool slightly
before removing from baking sheet.
Makes about 7 dozen cookies.
