Layered Lettuce Salad

Ingredients
1 head lettuce -- torn
3 stalks celery -- chopped fine
1 green pepper -- chopped fine
1 small onion -- chopped fine
1 can waterchestnuts, canned
optional 1 pk frozen peas -- cooked & cooled
1 quart mayonnaise
4 tablespoons powdered sugar
3 ounces parmesan cheese -- grated
1 sprinkle bacon bits
Preparation:
Make this salad the day before serving. Cut up the lettuce and spread evenly
in the bottom of a 9X13 inch pan. Add a layer of chopped celery Add a layer
of chopped green pepper Add a layer of chopped onion Add a layer of waterchestnuts
Add a layer of peas Mix the dressing - mayonnaise and powdered sugar - pour
over the salad Sprinkle on the layer of parmesan cheese Sprinkle on the bacon
bits refrigerate over night
