Bean Soup Recipe

Ingredients
2 Cups mixed dried beans (1 pkg).
2 Cup diced ham (other options are smoked sausage, ham bone, or ham hock)
1 Large chopped onion
1 28 oz. can chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup cliced carrots
1/2 cup sliced celery
2 Quarts Water
1 tsp chili powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
Rinse the dried beans and soak in salted water overnight. To cook, rinse the beans
and place in a covered kettle with the meat product and simmer 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
Add the onion, tomatoes, carrots, celery, and chili powder and simmer another
45 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.
