A scene from the heartland at harvest time. Traveling west on US-18 from Forest City. |
Camped overnight in Armour, SD park operated by the Lions Club. Very quiet, nice park with electric - donation requested. Water and dump are available. |

Our rig in the Sage Creek camp in the Badlands National Park. This was a beautiful spot but not a good road to get there. |
Buffalo occasionally roam through the Sage Creek campground, and the Coyotes howl at night. |

Devils Tower in the mist. There is a nice 1.2 mile hiking path which circles the tower. |
MJ in the Devils Tower boulder field. These chunks fell off the tower formation. No worries though - no stone column has fallen down in the 100 years since the the monument was established. |

The parade grounds at old Fort Laramie, Wyoming. A very interesting historic site with reconstructions and original buildings. The fort was closed in 1890, and was a main stopping point on the trails to the west. |
Petrified Redwood tree stump at the Florrisant National Monument. These trees were up to 14 feet in diameter. |

Here we are on the road up Pikes Peak. We could only get to about 11,500 feet because the peak was closed due to high winds this day - too bad - but still many nice views. |
A nice rattler in the Guadalupe Mountains National Park. He was sunning himself in the road so we stopped, and a park ranger stopped and moved him off the road - he was pretty ticked off! |
